Archive for January, 2009

This past Saturday I finished the first batch of the first b+j greene hometown shirt: the Shutesbury Shirt.

I needed to set up a formal “line” of shirts to streamline production (rather than make each shirt totally different, requiring each item be photographed and described individually). I am naming each shirt after a town I have [...]

R.I.P. Inspiration

First, my true love, House & Garden (of which I have years of issues carefully stored) was taken out.

Now, the replacement for that true love, Domino, is headed for certain death.

Where, oh where, will I get my inspiration now? These magazines are my life-blood, my one source of divine beauty. They have kept me going [...]

Misty’s Week of Colors: Pink

In the ground of these pages is pieces of text from “Letters to a Young Poet” by Ranier Maria Rilke. You can read the letters here. I have a compilation of phrases from the letters taped into the inside of one of my art journals, so this is what I wrote across the ground. I got the compilation from a [...]

Since I was not home at all yesterday I woke up this morning to a light-filled studio and spent some quality time with my paints and chocolate.
In general I do not like either of these colors. Red is too angry and yellow is too obnoxious, which is why I appreciate Misty’s challenge this week. I [...]

It’s hard to capture metalics and so this just looks more muddy then it actually is. And I need to learn how to use my camera to its full potential.
I love Misty’s orange. It is happy (at least enough for its own good).
Good Night Paint.

Misty’s Week of Colors: Blue

Misty has been putting prompts out there for people in the last few weeks. I didn’t have a chance to participate in any of the self-protraits, but this week she is doing monochromatic paintings and today is BLUE!
I love blue. Blue and orange (often together) are my favorite colors. I am very please with how [...]

New Shirts & Etsy Update Coming

First, I have to say that we just took the dogs sledding with us in the dark, down the winding trail behind our house and it was so much fun! Basil rode on my lap and Lexi ran alongside Ben as we cruised down the luge. They thought it was such a great game and [...]

This morning I was ready to have a 2 hour delay (a storm was coming), but get up early anyway and fit in some blogging before going to school. But then as I was eating my cereal bar I looked and school was actually cancelled! I have a Snowday, or rather an Iceday, so I [...]
